First sign up with us with the domain name you have decided on. Then visit Network Solutions or any other domain registration site and make the appropriate changes. You will be asked for specific information. At Network Solutions, click on "Making Changes," follow the form and request to "change your host." Below is the information you will need.

- Do I type in www.mysite.com or mysite.com in my browser?
You may type either way. Our servers recognize both addresses.
- What is DNS?
It is the servers that tell users on the internet what server to go to when they type in your URL in their browsers.
- I need to change my domain name on the order I submitted. How can I do that?
It is easy. Just fill out #4 on this form and follow the instructions.
- I changed the DNS servers at Networks Solution but my domain name has not switched over from my last hosting company. Is there something wrong
Unfortunately it is out of our control now.
Here is a brief description of how the internet works.
All domains are registered with some registry which holds the authoritative name servers for the domain. In your case our domain servers are now the authoritative name servers (DNS). The DNS holds records about all of the domains for which it is authoritative. These records have time for when the record expires, for when it should be refreshed and other things. There are many name servers on the internet. When you log on the internet through your ISP, you are most likely using their name server. If your business has a local net, the firewall computer may have a DNS. When you send mail to a domain or look at a website, the local DNS goes out on the web to find the authoritative name server for that domain to get the ip. Once it has retrieved the record, it will not update that record until the refresh time runs out or the expire time runs out. So the next time you access that domain the local name server has a non-authoritative record and the response is much quicker. Now this works great until the authoritative DNS changes for a domain. The local DNS's will not update until the refresh time expires or the DNS is restarted. If you control your local DNS, you can restart the DNS and then the new record will be reloaded.
While many things happen quickly on the internet, DNS propagation is not necessarily one of them. The only thing you can do is wait for the DNS to update the record for you domain. This could be today or a week from now. It depends upon the times the previous authoritative DNS had for your domain.
